Dr. Bimpe “Bebe” Adenusi is a distinguished figure in the field of nurse anesthesia, serving as the Program Director at Cedar Crest College Nurse Anesthesia Program in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She is also the visionary Founder and President of the Nigerian American Nurse Anesthetists Association (NANAA) in the United States.

Dr. Adenusi’s professional journey began as a Clinical Chemist at SmithKline Beecham in Norristown, Pennsylvania, after she earned her Bachelor of Science. Driven by a passion for patient care, she transitioned to nursing, obtaining an associate degree from Delaware County Community College, followed by a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana State University (ISU), Terre Haute, IN.

Her quest for excellence led her to further her education with a master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesiology from Drexel University, PA, and a Doctor of Philosophy from New Mexico State University (NMSU), Las Cruces, NM.

Renowned for her mentorship and inclusive approach, Dr. Adenusi has profoundly impacted CRNAs, SRNAs, registered nurses, and medical students across the Tri-state area. She is a member of several honor societies, including the National Honor Scholarship Society, Phi Kappa Phi, the National Scholars Honor Society, and the Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement. Additionally, she is actively involved in the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists (AANA) and serves as an editor and reviewer for the International Student Journal of Nurse Anesthesia (ISJNA).

Dr. Adenusi’s commitment to community service is evident through her participation in various associations and outreach programs. She is one of the driving forces behind the “Faculty Fellowship Program,” aimed at increasing diversity among faculty in anesthesia programs and serves as the chair of the Allied Health Committee of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA). She also holds the position of Treasurer for the ANPA Pennsylvania/Delaware Chapter and is a Board Member of the Pennsylvania League for Nursing (PLN) State Board of Nursing.

Her leadership extends to global medical missions, promoting equitable and inclusive health services and surgeries for vulnerable populations. Notably, her innovative partnership with Labakcare Organization resulted in vaccinating 1,720 homeless individuals in Camden, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA, during the COVID-19 pandemic from 2021 to 2022. Dr. Adenusi continuously seeks collaborations to ensure equitable access to healthcare for all.

Recently elected to the PANA Board of Trustees and the AANA Leadership Identification Committee, Dr. Adenusi is a respected voice in the field. In her personal life, she enjoys engaging with her community and cherishes time spent with her husband and three sons.
